Our research team is investigating the complex relationships between the small intestine microbiome and various pathological conditions, with a particular focus on metabolic diseases or pathologies targeting the small intestine like the Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

Team mission

We strive to:

  • Elucidate the role of the small intestine microbiome in SIBO or other pathologies like metabolic diseases
  • Develop innovative diagnostic methods for microbiome-related disorders
  • Identify potential therapeutic targets within the microbiome-host interaction network
  • Evaluate the potential of strategies like pro-, post-, prebiotics and vegetal extracts in restoring gut microbial eubiosis
